Not true. Anybody donates will get Donor status. This is started for last few days, so people who donated in last few days get this. Pappu mentioned that he is planning to cross reference this with old donations but not sure whats happening there.

In that case I have sent $100 about an year back, and the memo section does say my account name as "sri1309". It was sent by Money order. Can you please change my status as Donor. I like that.
Also I posted one thread just now "lets start writing to Zoe".. Can you please let me know if there is some moderation step which is taking time. Earlier it used to be instantly posted.

Yeah but if the PDs are set as unavailable, what can they do about those cases anyway, as the priority date has to be current on the day of approval in the consulate.
Furthermore, unlike with 485s they can't consular process 18K cases on a Sunday! It is not a centralised process for them to do that.
I think they have to be current when they get an appointment or something like that. I am pretty sure that they accounted those 18k as CP numbers

I dont understand your H4 expiry date shoud be tied to your husbands H1 date. So if your DL expires then automatically his DL should also have expired.

I'm a desperate house spouse(H4) and now not only I can't work but I can't drive either because the current visa expires on May 10 and the new extension is not here yet. The folks at DMV didn't wanna give an extension for the DL unless I bring a new I 94. Now the poor H1 has to do 2 jobs
1. work his but off at work to get GC
2. drive the kids up and down, do the shopping, etc etc because the desperate h4 can't move a finger.
Anyone in the same barrel?

I think these guys are just playing with our minds. They know how many applications are pending. At least they have a estimate and idea.
Now they will sit on these pending applications until the end of year and then suddenly move dates 2-3 years ahead and approve some GCs. Few will be happy and most of us will be disappointed.

I get a big laugh when I read some of the posts mocking each other...
I have expressed my view/gameplan and even mentioned those who like can take anything out of it...
all those who are asking for donation..would you be happy if I donate a 1000$...why not make IV a paysite :D
Anyone who wants to get in have to pay at the gate :D so much for free-forum
I dont want to list here all the charities and social stuff I do just because a bunch of morons demand donation...hahaha sounds like ganesh festival donation demand :D
just know that we all do stuff in our lives oneway or other to give back to society...
And the losers who could get 15% investment and mock other who got more...please grow up...world is much bigger than your box
anyways..since you asked me try a simple investment in wellsfargo around march,april with 100K and figure out how much you get...as they say your attitude is, if you cant do it dont let other do it or just live in denial :)

I think dates won't (and should not ) move much. So at the end of year we can see big jump and then may be people like me can file I-1485.

However, keep in mind that FB immigration is still a sore spot with the American public as the perception is that Immigrants bring their parents here to collect on SS and Medicare (true in some cases I guess). If it were left up to me, I would leave FB Immigration out of the writeup.......

Donot they limit to the apps with current PD. So if some one with PD 2001 Jan filed on July 15th 2007, he would not get his visa no until all the other guys filed with much later PDs got their GCs?

We (5 People) work for IBM company, SFO, today we went personally to the congress men and we submit the letter which is provided in this forum and after that we called state senator office and we explained about our problem. We faxed and email the letter to the senator office, staff had taken my contact details and they told me that they will inform the solution in 2days.

If the economy is holding up like it does, other issues including immigration may get put on the backburner. This is the time to stand up and make our voices heard. Please step up and contribute for the massive lobbying that we (you and I) need to do to get these action items taken care of.
Don't think that other guys are contributing and this will be taken care of by iteself since I have other channels where my money is flowing into, and that I will contribute later if one of the bills get to the house floor etc. This is the time your help is needed the most. Each and every penny that you contribute matters.
It's high time we all see the big picture and stand up for ourselves because you know why...No one else is looking out for us but IV (us)!

IV friends ,
Last week my lawyer has asked for copy of Driving License of me and my wife for filing the H1-B and H4 extension.
Then one of my friend told me that INS is asking for copy of the driving license for filing the h1-B extension.
My employer is supposed to file my 3 year Extension based on I-140 in Dec this year( Dec 2007) but my Licences expires on Sept 2008, So I will I be just getting the extension till Sept 2008 and Not 3 year extension.
Any Idea on that

I think i saw a query similar to one you have posted but as far as I know,it is the other way around.DMV will ask you legal proof the USCIS approved petition to limit the duration of your DL or photo id till the expiry of your approved petition.These changes came in effect after 9/11 .I had a Cal DL issued in 2000 expiring in 2005 i had changed from Cal DL to VA DL in 2004. They issued me DL upto 2010 ,just last year (2006) my wife went to get photo ID she was asked two identifcation ID ,proof of legal status and proof of residence. After a few hassles she was given a photo id till Feb 2008 when her H4 expires. Frankly I see no dependency of DL duration to the extension duration. It is quite possible DL is another form of ID issued by a State authority and proved you residency. Thats my take.
