Hi
i am in a small problem and it would be great if someone could help me out.
i came in us on f1 visa in jan2008 and i completed my mba in dec 2010. my opt expired on 31st march 2010. but before my SEVIS could expire i transfered my SEVIES to new college for summer term. now my visa is for 5 years ending on jan 2013. i know as long as i stay in US i am maintaining my status. but now i need to go home for few days. So how is it going to wrok for me? Do i need to go for new visa stamping or can i come back on same visa ? if i need to get new visa can i get it done in US before going home ? What are my option and what are my chances of coming back?

I have just started a thread to ask if there is any need to call our local senators for co-sponsoring S.3084 ( Barbara Boxer), which is identical bill in Senate for HR 6039.
Is core working to get similar bills for HR.5882 and HR 5921 to get introduced in Senate?

My I-485 is pending with EB3 Feb 2006 priority date. Invoked AC21 and currently working for a different employer. Have Masters degree and 9+ years of experience.
Is there a way to re-apply for Green Card under EB2 category thru a 3rd employer and retain the old EB3 priority date?

I just wrapped up a dozen years of service on the board of the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society, the organization that helped my family and my wife's family immigrate to the US. This Skil bill in HR development looks very exciting....may be this will be the our savior bill. Now senate and house both has similar bills and based upon the trend, it looks there is not much resistance to this new bill.
I hope with in few weeks we, the retrogression sufferers will be out of the dodge.

Skin test and X-ray have nothing to do with a USCIS Physician's reputation buth rather on the outcome of the physical exam. However what is important is the amount the Physician is charging for the medical examination. I have an appointment with Dr Alfred in St Louis next week at Forest Park Medical clinic. Appointments are very hard to get by in St Louis.

Dear Core Team,
What is IV's stand on people still stuck in LC backlog in PEBC/DEBC, There are applications pending there since 2001/2002. If this becomes law that I-140 filed after May 2007 will be rejected then the biggest impact will be on such people as even labor is not cleared and even after waiting for so long they will lose everything.

Hello all,
I entered US on a valid h4 visa on june 2007.Filed for a h1b on march 2008 and got and stamped h1 on sep 2008.Cud not find job due to recession.Converted back to h4 on oct 2009.I have following questions
1) Is it possible to convert back to H1 or fresh H1 ?
2) will the time period i spent on h4 will be counted for my h1?
3) When i stamped my h1b earlier(oct 2008) it showed validity till sep 2011.Does that mean I have to apply h4 to h1 before that?
4) In case if i get a RFE on converting from h4 to h1 Can i stay back on my existing h4 visa?
5) I havnt ever worked on my H1 will that affect my conversion from h4 to h1 now?
It will be great if you can answer these questions.

Hello,
As we know, from January 1 2010, all the prevailing wage (PW) determinations have to be sent to DOL. My PW was submitted on March 1 2010 and I still have not got the determination. Can someone tell, how long is it taking on an average?

Hi,
Because of some reason or the other it happend to be so bad that my I140 documents were sent by courier on Tuesday - 17 July 2007.
can any one of you please suggest what best I can do to file my 485 during this current window July 17 to Aug 17 2007.

As suggested by pappu/starsun, this supporting thread provides impacted members with additional information and tools to help the initiative.

As pappu stated in the first post of the above referenced thread - some of the ongoing efforts include finding how many IV members would get benefit from such a provision and get basic details such as username/Priority Date of impacted members. Future action items might include drafting documents and letters to support this provision. There maybe actions such as sending emails etc. However we would not be able to open a public action item unless we can have thousands of our members willing to participate in a grassroots action item. This survey intends to understand the needs of our membership for this provision and collect grassroots information.
The fact is we have a dedicated group of volunteers (and we need more) who have been trying their best to spread the message about this initiative so that a strong grass-roots support can be created leading up to launch of the public action items. So far we have around 1100 people who have responded. Based on quick calculations carried out using PERM data, it is estimated that there are at least 60K-70K EB applicants waiting to file I-485/EAD/AP (this is a very conservative estimate..the actual number could be much more). Grass-roots initiatives require time and patience and we request maximum number of impacted folks to participate actively.
