    Hi All,

    How important is the location of the US embassy for getting the H1B visa stamping ? When applying for my H1B petition in April 2008, my lawyer had mentioned that I would be going to the US embassy in Germany for the H1B visa interview. I'm also aware that I could go to my home country for doing the same. However, does anyone know if I can go to Canada/Mexico, given that I have the visas to go to these countries ? I have a US H4 visa.

    Applying for SSN doesn't invalidates your H1..

    I received my EAD recently and shortly applied and got SSN. Its a card which allows you to work. Doesnt cancel nothing :D

    If you have successfully transfered your PD after your I-140 approval. Please post your experience.

    I have seen I-140 threads for a while ..everyone have a opinion ..but none of you have gone through it....its misleading we can quote different websites and USICS documents ..only people who actually transfered PD can share. How they did it. Whats the process. Please respond to this thread only if you have successfully transfered PD after I-140 approval.

    My 7th year H1-B renewal was mailed by my lawyer on March 30th to the Vermont Serice Center. They received it on March 31st. I know that there was a change in filing taking effect April 1st. What happened in my case is that the USCIS forwarded my files to the California Service Center without receipting it first. California reveiced my file on April 4th and now I find myself out of status. My lawyer tries to tell me that it was an USCIS mistake whereas a lawyers who I retained for a second opinion tells me it was the mistake of the first attorney. I did everything possible for the to reconsider their decision but I still would like to know who's to blame. If it was indeed the lawyera mistake I'm considering filing a complaint against him.

    Has anybody had any experience with changing address to PO box on form AR 11 with USCIS or otherwise.

    I recently had mail theft and have obtained a PO box but am not sure if we can fill out form AR 11 using PO box address. Mail theft is not uncommon and nobody would like to lose their EADs/FP notices in mail. The form asks for street address.

    Also if people utilize AC21 to change jobs (or change locations) it would be simpler to have a PO box to get your mail.

    I have put out the question to my lawyer but haven't heard back yet.

    Anybody with any experience do post.

    Can someone give me any suggestions?


    I have filed for my AOS, last week.. I am assuming that i will get my EAD, AP in next 3-4 months......

    a.) Once we get our EAD's can we go to India for a period of 6 months...even without receiving our physical GC? and yet return to US??

    b.) After filing for AOS, can we leave US for a long period (6 months)..so in that case will we still get our EAD/AP/GC's???????


    any answers?
