I agree with your points. Just adding few comments.
Huge debt for everyone? This is going to be the biggest problem because in US, we have a foundation for debt based economy (SSN, credit history, Credit score, credit ratings etc.) If you default the payment, you will have an effect and there will be an impact on future credit applications. There is nothing of this sort in India and the politicians will not allow such things to be setup as well. So essentially back to my point. Banks who lend money are at bigger risk of loosing it. There is nothing that they can do to report on consumer's default or fraud for that matter.
Now per say consumer dump the property or bank attaches it for non payment of loan amount, Bank will be stuck with properties worth 1/4th for those crores that they loaned to people, maintenance will cost them more to prepare it for sale.
In any account, there is a big problem ahead there.

I agree with your points. Just adding few comments.

We have to differentiate ourselves from the illegals. Let the illegals do Rallies, Huger strikes etc.
I agree. All this Gandhigiri is not going to do anything. Guys lets just stick with lobbying and reduce what we ask for like I mentioned on another thread. As long as everyone gets SOME benefit we should be good.
Too much of these fasts and rallies is going to do just one thing, it will send a powerful message of the WRONG kind to the American people that "First they come on temporary work visas, then they forcefully demand Permanent residency". It will affect us even more when we go back for visa interviews and also new people coming here will have problems. Also, unfortunate but true, IV is still viewed as an organization For the Indians, By the Indians, even though this is Not true at all. If you add the whole Gandhigiri aspect to it, it will only add more fuel to the hate fire that most anti-immigrants now have against some of us Indians.
By all means let us send a card every week to the Senators and Congressmen asking for help. A nice personalized card to each one of them EVERY week. Other than that let us PLEASE not entertain thoughts of "non-co-operation" and "Hunger Strikes". Let us remember Gandhiji was fighting to get OUR OWN country back from the FOREIGN British Rule. I think these guys are just playing with our minds. They know how many applications are pending. At least they have a estimate and idea.
Now they will sit on these pending applications until the end of year and then suddenly move dates 2-3 years ahead and approve some GCs. Few will be happy and most of us will be disappointed.

I also got the same message. But it says document mailed and not as Travel Document approved. What does this mean?. IS the AP approved or any RFE on the AP??:confused:

This is a really good site that shows the trends for everything (PERM, H1 transfer etc). Although the accuracy depends on the number of people who add their cases, it was almost exact to the day for my H1 transfer.

Guys don�t presume you don�t have rights for this and that. late in spring of 2005 I had a meeting with my state�s senator and he took all my details and wrote to Backlog Center in Philadelphia. After 2 months his office called me and send me the correspondence they got from BEC. They had description about my file etc. my labor was cleared in a month after that. Apparently BECs informed his office about the approval too, and to my surprize they called me up again and told me the news. They are public office they are answerable to us, we need to ask�Mirage,
I think what Dard-E-Disco is pointing out is that, we are foreigners (Not citizens of the USA), therefore our rights are not the same as a US citizen.
We could create rallies, voice our concerns on this forum, write letters to congressmen and senators, etc etc etc, and that is fine, but we don't have any right to really ask particularly USCIS about their internal workings. I would assume that even US citizens are able to do what you are saying. There are certain levels of confidentiality specially in government that they will never share with anyone.
I think the same is true in your country.
How do think would your people or governmnet react if a foreigner in your country start to question your immigation policy.
Think about that.

Applied GC in 2002 July in EB3 category. Still waiting for PD to apply 485. Missed 2007 Aug fiasco. Recemtly got my 11,12 and 13th year H1B extension.
