Senator sessions was the key due to the lame duck session rules but going forward as i understand a majority can pass the bill..not ever one need to vote for the bill.
Money would help core do activities like setting up the web site, faxes, going to DC, educating law makers...nothing comes free in this world.
I am sure core team would like to post the account details on this web site and be done with it. And may be list down the number of hours and money they have spent from their personal accounts too. But there are some issues with that. We can always call them up for details if that is what is holding you from contributing. Its only a phone call away.

I was hoping to get a 2 year EAD, but I am wrong now. Make the VB current, issue 1 year EAD and then retrogress. What a brain!!!

Kudos to USCIS though for keeping themselves employed. They have made such a mess of what could be a simple immigration planning process, by introducing layers upon layers of groupings, arbitrary allocation number limits and what not. A similar but perhaps even more complicated rocket science mess exists in another govt entity - the IRS.

Just did some stats on , did only for texas service center
It appears that Notice Date is immaterial. As long as your PD is current.
So, you dont need to worry, if your notice date is Oct 2007 and TX processing date still shows July 17th. They are approving the cases as long as your PD is current in PD order which makes sense.
I see a case with Nov 12 2007 ND and PD of dec 2002 is approved.
Dont expect any LUD's either, Only suprise email matters....welcome to america, card production ordered.....:D

Came to USA in March 2000. First company never filed for GC in 2000 and 2001 year. Lost job in 2001. Got consulting work in another state. Later joined 3rd company in 2002.
1st EB3 Labor - Filed on Feb - 2004 in 3rd company in USA

2nd EB2 Labor - Nov - 2006 - in 4th company in USA.
(Applied I-140 on Jan -2007- Got denied on May-2009 after two RFE's.)
(Appealed I-140 on June - 2009...still waiting for their response)
RFE was about my 3+3 (Diploma + Engg degree) for Eb2 case.
(Applied for 485 for me and my wife during July Fiasco)
Never used EAD anytime.
(I am going to bear all cost of GC process)
